The lyrics really stuck in my mind especially the line “Through others, we become ourselves” this suggest that from copying others or playing dressing up we find our selves. We are all placed in to stereotypes and sometimes we play with stereotypes or copy someone we admire to find ourselves.

In philosophy, becoming is the possibility of change in a thing that has being, that exists.. In the philosophical study of ontology, the concept of becoming originated in ancient Greece with the philosopher Heraclitus of Ephesus, who in the sixth century BC, said that nothing in this world is constant except change and becoming (i.e., everything is impermanent).   The slow process of becoming one’s parents, or becoming more like them, is both an address and a farewell.

Telling lies to others to gain power or money will eventually defeat us but equally damaging are the lies we tell ourselves. Clouded views, poor judgments and a negative self-image are the by- products of this self-deception and unless you start being honest with yourself, it’s highly unlikely you’ll ever be a success at anything.   Below is an infographic with 12 simple and inspiring ideas from Anna Vital for how to stop being hard on yourself. Her 12 powerful tips: Your mistakes are part of your learning.

In His earthly ministry, the Master outlined how we should live, how we should teach, how we should serve, and what we should do so that we could become our best selves.
